It's stable and sturdy. I'll share some facts and tips for those who are considering this unit.

The outside dimension from side to side, including all pieces, is about 22.5 inches. At my house, that's narrow enough to roll into a bedroom but not a bathroom. It would just roll through the bathroom doorway if there was no door, but a standard hinged door gets in the way.

The seat itself is about 12 inches square. The space between the uprights is 16.5 inches, so if you're any wider than that, it'll be a squeeze.

Hand tightening the handles at the desired height worked okay for me, but a frail person would probably need some help.

The usual guidance I've seen for walking aids is that the handles should rise to about the crease in your wrist. I'm 5'9", and I had to raise the handles to their highest stable position to reach my wrist. I've got the handles standing 36 inches off the floor. The product specs say they can go to 37", but I was leery of putting them any higher. If you're a six-footer, 37 inches might not be high enough anyway.

The seat is 21" above the floor - not adjustable.

The handles stand 14.5 inches above the seat, at the handle height I'm using. That might be good news for you if you'd need the support to stand up. It might be bad news if you don't like having high "armrests" when you're seated.

The 7.5-inch wheels are pretty good at rolling over minor obstacles, but sooner or later you'll have to lift the unit. The product specs say it's 20 pounds. Think of it as something like a couple of gallons of a beverage, or a case of 24-ounce cans. If those are too heavy for you, the rollator is too heavy for you.

The brakes work fine. Someone with weak grip strength might have trouble. You squeeze them bike-style to brake temporarily (without letting go). You push them down with your palms to lock the brakes so you can let go.

The basket isn't described in the instructions, so it took me a few moments to puzzle it out. My instructions: Insert from the front ("front" meaning the direction you'd walk in), with the two hooks facing the rear. Rest the hooks on the crossbar where the seat hinges. There's a ridge in the bottom of the basket. Rest that on the forward lower crossbar. When it's in position, the seat partially blocks it from above when the seat is down. The raised seat reaches down into the rear portion of the basket.

You'll need to remove the basket to fold up the rollator.

There are a few other things to note about folding it up. First, the strap anchored to the crossbar is handy for starting the folding process.

There's nothing to lock the rollator into a folded position. I find it's very eager to open back up again. I use an 18" bungee cord to hold the folded frame together.

There's also nothing to hold the seat or backrest upright while the rollator is folded. For me, this is less of a concern than the frame opening up, but it'd still be nice if the whole thing folded up securely.

It doesn't stand upright on its own in a folded position, even with a bungee cord on the frame. That's fine it it'll lie flat in a car trunk, but you'd need to prop it up against something otherwise.

Another thing about folding is that you're pretty much stuck with lifting it when it's folded. Suppose you need to squeeze through a tight spot. You can't just roll it through opened up, so you fold it up with the intent of pushing it through sideways. Not gonna happen. The rear wheels don't turn left or right, so you're not going to be able to roll the unit sideways. Or suppose you want to push or pull the rollator forward while it's folded. That's not going to work either, because the front and rear wheels are going to rub against each other. You'd drag it more than roll it, so you're probably stuck with lifting it.

Best walker available! Bought this for my mom, and my dad commandeered it because it is SO much better than his! ;) It is made of lightweight steel instead of aluminum, so much more sturdy. Wheels are bigger than most walkers, which adds to the stability. It is slightly narrower than most walkers, so fits more easily through doorways. The handbrakes are easy for arthritic hands to operate. and they "lock" with an easy push to keep the walker from rolling when necessary. The seat is an added comfort if a rest stop is needed immediately but there is nowhere to sit down - that feature alone makes it desirable. The basket underneath is nice for Mom's purse (yes, we bought her another one!) or whatever paperwork Dad has after a doctor's visit, carries a Bible to church on Sundays, or totes whatever sundry items are needed from another room. It folds very easily for transport in the car. I work in the medical field, and this is without a doubt the best design for a walker I've ever seen. Both my parents love them and use them proudly. HIGHLY recommend!!

This is my Mom's second Drive Rollator which the wheel bearing break! The 1st Rollator wheel broke the same way. I thought it was just fluke so I brought another one. The second Rollator did not last 2 months! There must be some issue with the bearings because they break down. Four wheels costs almost as much as a new walker. I plan to find another wheel manufacturer or buy another brand of Rollator.

Here is my issue with this. In the description of the product it doesn't specify that it is much heavier. I purchased this for my 86 year old mom, and as independent as she is, she could not lift this in and out of her car. Her arthritis makes it too heavy. So I paid $55 to buy it. It will cost $50 to return it. I'm going to donate it instead and will find one elsewhere. Very disappointed that we didn't get the information before the purchase.

***UPDATE 10/31/20... I still like the walker. Issue with seat others have mentioned. Seat snapped! Has a 300 lb weight limit and my 165 lb snapped the seat. Luckily my husband fixed it with some metal furniture brace thingies he bought for $6. (Picture added) Make sure to use short screws so they don't stab your rear when seated.
***This is a safety issue Drive Medical needs to address!!!
It's only day one so we'll see how it holds up over time. So far I'm impressed! I bought this as a replacement to my Invacare Rollator as I needed something with a smaller footprint. This is serving that need perfectly as I am no longer limited to where I can go in our home because of a bulky too wide rollator. Assembly is minimal and easy. I am slightly disappointed with handle assembly as I find the push in height adjustment pins more convenient than this style where pin must be unscrewed and completely removed to adjust handle height. The handles sit at an awkward angle that I'm not used too... yet. Minor inconveniences, not a deal breaker. It is more cumbersome to transport as it doesn't stay closed when folded like my Invacare did. Again minor annoyance, not a deal breaker. Unit seems sturdy as does seat. The larger wheels are a must! It's hard to rave about a walker because whose excited about needing a walker? But it helps and makes daily life much easier! I have Multiple Sclerosis and fatigue easily so the seat is a godsend! Reference for height and seat size pictures attached, I'm 5'4 and 165 lbs.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it for me.

This was not what I expected. I had hoped for a decent sized basket so I could use nit grocery shopping. Most of this one is under the seat and so shallow it will hold a wallet and maybe a liter of milk. I find it hard to fold up. It also has the connectors for the handles without notches. You have to hope you've got them even then tighten a little handle tight enough so it doesn't slip but not so tight that you end up breaking the adjustment handle. It is also narrower than I had expected. When folded it should slip into the SUV side door easily but does not. However I consider this a lesson learned. I cannot deal with packing it up to send it back so will try to find the type of walker I need here and then donate this one somewhere.

The walker itself looks very strong, high quality and well-made. Its easy to assemble, no need for instructions, but of course read it for safety concerns. Just one complaint that knocked off 1 star for me is the photo is a bit misleading. I thought i was receiving a pouch not a basket. I saw a lot of walkers with baskets for cheaper but only spent the extra dollars to get the zip up pouch. Then you get the photos of the walker with a basket in the product details. Why not delete your main photos and replace it with what you're really selling? the basket itself is tiny. What can you buy at the grocery store? 3 bars of snickers? Anyway the basket sits awkwardly and i feel like it doesn't fit on the walker unless i'm doing it wrong ?
Photo 1: How its suppose to fit. with the curve of the basket on top of the bar but the hooks seems to be backwards and suppose to be on the other side. But hooks are not removable.
Photo 2: Only way it will hook on but basket is leaning down on one side because it's hitting the bar and the basket is a straight line. The curve of the basket that's suppose to be placed on a bar is just hanging.

3.0 out of 5 stars Solid unit except, *Seat is a big fail*

Reviewed in Canada on February 28, 2020

It's a nice unit, a little heavier but I'd rather have the steel frame over an aluminum (snapped every weld on my aluminum walker). Rolls nice, good brakes, strong welds, basket is nice touch. Goes together licketty-split. The seat..... that is the failing part. Too thin and flimsy. The internal plank has cracked/shattered and is useless. I'm 215 lbs., so not big (but not small). Putting a piece of plywood under the leading edge or whole seat is recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Open box item was physically damaged

Reviewed in Canada on November 6, 2019

Color: Red Verified Purchase

I purchased an open box to save twenty dollars. Usually no issue on that front. But when the walker arrived beyond the box not being in good shape (which I did not care about) the walker itself had physical damage. The bar for the back of the chair had the plastic pieces broken off. So it has a sharp edges that could cut and the bar does not stay in place and therefore dangerous to sit on and I am returning the item.

Despite the poor shape of the open box we bought we are happy with the walker. I purchase for my 79 year old father who is recovering from heart surgery. There were comments about this being for a smaller person and I would disagree. Are there higher and more spacious units, I am sure there are. I am 6'5" and weigh 270lbs, I was able to push the walker around and sit in the chair no issue (without leaning back of course due to issue mentioned above) my dad is 6'2" and lighter then me and it is working for him. As I said I am returning the open box, but have purchased a new one for him, same make and model.

I did knock 2 stars off the rating, just because the open box should not have been resold. I noticed the damage the second it came out, obviously Amazon does not inspect.

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect Rollator style walker at a good price

Reviewed in Canada on September 7, 2018

This is a nice, light weight walker. It's quick and easy to assemble, has comfortable grips, a good locking mechanism and is equipped with a handy little basket to carry things which frees the hands. The seat is great for short rest periods too making shopping or a walk easier. All this at a price that's remarkably lower than those in a medical supply store.
